Winter – a season in which we burn the old, breathe in the rolling fog over our vineyards and taste the bubbling stew of a productive harvest. The sun may shine fleetingly on our lush green rolling hills, but the Winter is for the long nights of star gazing, shed dinners and warming ourselves amongst our nearest and dearest. Barossa Seasons: Winter welcomes you to the beginning of our seasonal celebration of wine, food and experiences.
The winter commands our focus to appreciate the reds of our region. Shiraz, Cabernet, Grenache and Mataro are all served generously, matching with flavours from the flame. Or perhaps you may find comfort in an array of Fortifieds that our region has to offer, shared with the sweeter things in life.
Breakfasts that are best begun with the warming of hands around freshly stoked fires from overnight. Lunches with historians in buildings a century old, sharing stories both through taste and tales. Dinners at tables as long as the list of great company you keep, filled with produce both diverse and delicious. In our Winter season, we celebrate food from the fire and our productive seasons that have passed.
Watching the flickering flame of hundreds of dead vines burn, as our winemakers prepare for a new season. Sharing a meal with strangers in an old market shed hosted by some of our region’s best producers. Markets that bring a festive cheer to a town. Barossa Seasons: Winter marks a new experience of the region beyond what you would expect.
